Greetings music lovers,
Seth and I are about to jump in the van and embark on a six week tour that will take us from Huntsville, Texas to Portland, Maine (and a few nice places in between) over a six week period. We'll be returning to some favorite venues down South and out East, and also hitting a few new ones. The whole she-bang will be kicked off on April 12th with a show in Minneapolis, a show in Fargo April 13th, and a short stint back in Austin before we hit the road.
For the St Paul and Fargo gigs, Seth and I will have the honor of having Nick Larson on bass and Texas fiddler Ricky Turpin to keep us company and sweeten up our sound. We are very excited to work with these two fine pickers and I know you will love hearing them.
We will take three weeks in June to play a few shows in Austin (I hate to miss too many Tuesdays down at the Evangeline or Sunday mornings at Threadgill's). We'll also take this time to put the finishing touches on a brand new duet album featuring Jesse Dayton and myself, to be released this Summer on Stag Records.
But we'll have to hurry up and get overseas: June 30th we are booked at the Veierland Festival in Norway, and the weekend after at the Vinstra Festival, a few hours from Oslo. Last Summer we played the Seljord Festival and had the time of our lives. Norway is choc full of great people, beautiful scenery, and believe it or not... country music!
